BIOGRAPHY
JULIA KUSHNARENKO
Julia Kushnarenko grew up in small city in the North Caucasus and was a graduate at VGIK named after S.A. Gerasimov directing department. In 2019 she made as editor feature documentary “Voy”, made by Oscar-Nominated director Maxim Arbugaev. Julia has collaborated as a director with National Geographic Magazine (USA), Stereotactic production, and “E” film company. Her film “Terra” has won over 15 awards from multiple international film festivals, including a Jean Loup Passek Award. In 2021 she was a member of the international jury at the Melgaço International Documentary Film Festival (Portugal). Julia made a Master Degree DocNomads in documentary film directing divided between Portugal, Hungary, and Belgium with a class of 24 students from all over the world. She is currently located in Belgium.

Production at Bovanenkovo natural gas field began in 2012. The gas production takes place on the historical migration routes of indigenous reindeer herders: the Nenets people. And they have to pass through industrial zones to get to their summer pastures.
